A legacy of Procedural Comfort Care

In 2024, the award was presented to the PROSA team at UZ Leuven (Belgium)  a nurse-led team with over ten years of dedication to procedural comfort. Their pioneering work with intranasal dexmedetomidine for sedation during imaging allowed countless procedures to be carried out safely, in a child-centered way, significantly reducing the need for anesthesia. What began as a small initiative has since grown into a well-embedded and highly respected cornerstone of their pediatric service.
